Customization Options

Some exceptions may apply.

How much customization is allowed in my new home build?

We offer a variety of customization options depending on the home model you choose. Here’s a breakdown:

Customization Options for our Entry-Level Homes in the Brecken Heights Development

While Brecken Heights models have more limited options, you still have the ability to personalize some key aspects of your home to fit your preferences:

Customization Options: While the floor plan remains fixed, you have the opportunity to select from a few color and flooring palettes, allowing you to put your personal touch on the overall interior design. Additionally, you may choose from the following upgrades to enhance your home:

  • Fireplace with mantel and stone
  • Skylight in the kitchen/dining area
  • Air conditioning unit
  • Gas cook range
  • Gas connection for a dryer (appliance not included)
  • Engineered hardwood in place of carpet
  • Quartz countertops in the kitchen (pre-selected by Highmark)
  • StrucSure 10-year home warranty

Timing is Crucial: The earlier you finalize your choices and sign the contract—ideally before construction begins—the more flexibility you’ll have in selecting these upgrades and choosing your color palette. Waiting until later in the process might limit your options, particularly as construction progresses.

Customization Options for our Semi-Custom and Full Custom Homes in the Paradise of Colorado Development

For those looking for greater flexibility, our Paradise homes offer more opportunities for customization, with a few considerations to keep in mind:

Customization Flexibility: The sooner you sign the contract—before construction starts—the more customization options you will have. If the home is already under construction or nearly finished, your choices become more limited. With our semi-custom option, you can take any of our existing floor plans (depending on the lot) and work with our design team to make it uniquely yours.

Or if you prefer, we can start with your own plan (or design a new plan from scratch) and design a completely custom home tailored to your specific needs and desires. Keep in mind, the more custom you go, the more it will cost, while sticking to our available plans and premium options can help keep the build more affordable.

Potential Delays: Customizations requested later in the process may lead to project delays and could incur additional costs. If timing is important to you, it’s something to carefully consider.

Floor Plan Changes: Any changes to the layout need to be made very early on. Some modifications may not be possible due to lot restrictions or engineering limits, but early planning can help avoid these roadblocks.

Hard Surface Finishes: When it comes to things like flooring, countertops, and other surfaces, planning ahead with our preferred suppliers ensures a smooth customization process. Our design team handles every detail—from providing price estimates to creating renderings—making the process easier for you.

Balancing Customization and Budget for Your New Home Build

By planning ahead and working closely with our design team, you’ll have control over key customization choices. Whether you’re choosing from our existing floor plans or bringing in your own design, we’ll guide you through the process to ensure your decisions align with your vision and project needs. Just remember, the more custom you go, the higher the cost, while opting for a pre-designed plan and included premium options offers more budget-friendly flexibility.
